EDUCATION & RECRUITMENT: Our goal is simply to increase awareness and eliminate the huge racial ethnic gap of potential donors on the registry.
Custom Awareness, Education, and Recruitment Events
ABMW is available to speak with you or your group about the NMDP (Be the Match) registry and provide more kidney awareness information at a convenient time and location for you (i.e., places of business and worship; family reunions; picnics; community meetings; conferences; special events).
SPACE
The space necessary to conduct the education and recruitment drive is minimal.
1. Helath Fairs: 1-2 tables and 4-6 chairs
2. Group Presentations: Microphone and small table for literature
BENEFITS TIME
Participants learn about:
1. The need to increase the diversity of the registry (nationally, locally,
and personally)
2. Possible risks to patients and donors
3. National Marrow Donor Program (Be the Match) registry bone marrow
harvesting process
The education and recruitment process takes approximately 8-10 minutes:
1. Brief health questionnaire
2. Buccal Swab process
